A Turkish film company has announced its intention to film its version of the acclaimed comedy “Slave.” Filming will begin this summer, and the main role will be played by Knock on My Door star Kerem Bursin. “The Turkish version of the film will retain the concept of re-education of the major. The plot revolves around the main character named Mete, a spoiled heir from Istanbul who ends up in the 16th century Ottoman city. The start of filming is scheduled for June, the Ottoman city will be recreated in the iconic locations of the series “The Magnificent Century” and “Ertugrul,” says the Central Partnership film company, which is the distributor of the original.
Another “Knock on My Door” star Melisa Dengel is announced in the cast. The actress, by the way, knows the Russian language well, as she has Russian roots. The new “Slave” will be created jointly with the Russian studio Yellow, Black and White, and will be directed by Onur Unlu.
